Governing metric: Beurteilungstemperatur (assessment temperature, °C). At or below 26°C it equals air temperature. Above 26°C it is air temperature plus additive correction terms for work intensity (Tab. 1), clothing (Tab. 2), solar radiation (Tab. 3), Schwüle/humidity (Tab. 4), and wind (Tab. 5), then categorized into 4 Hitze-Stufen (Tab. 6).
Programmable logic: §2.2(3): at or below 26°C the Gefährdung is gering and Beurteilungstemperatur = airTempC, with no correction steps. Above 26°C, Beurteilungstemperatur = airTempC + workload correction (light 0°C / medium +2°C / heavy +4°C, Tab. 1) + clothing correction (seasonal 0°C / protective clothing +3°C / protective clothing plus PPE +4°C — the upper, more protective bound of each Tab. 2 range is used, since the primary text states the range depends on the specific garment's air/water-vapor permeability, which this calculator cannot know) + solar correction (shade 0°C / mixed +2°C / full sun +5°C, Tab. 3, reusing the app's existing sunExposure tri-state) + Schwüle correction (+3°C when relativeHumidity is at or above the Tab. 4 minimum for the nearest whole-degree air temperature in the 26-35°C range; 0°C, and flagged as not evaluated, when relativeHumidity is not supplied) + wind correction (calm/Bft 0-1: 0°C; light breeze/Bft 2-3, >=1.6 m/s: -2°C; noticeable wind/Bft >=4, >=5.5 m/s: -3°C, Tab. 5/Anhang 2 Tab. 7; 0°C, i.e. no cooling credit, when windSpeedMS is not supplied). The resulting Beurteilungstemperatur is classified into Tab. 6's four Hitze-Stufen at the same 26/30/35°C boundaries as §2.2(6)/(7)/(8): Stufe 1 (<=26°C, observe only), Stufe 2 (>26-30°C, measures per Abschnitt 2.3 should be taken), Stufe 3 (>30-35°C, measures per Abschnitt 2.3 must be taken), Stufe 4 (>35°C, treated as Hitzearbeit; the area is flagged unsuitable — stopWork true — unless the technical/organizational/personal measures §2.2(8) itself conditions the finding on are already in place, which this calculator has no input to confirm). The engine applies only when `outdoor` is explicitly true, matching this calculator's existing convention for outdoor-scoped European workplace rules (e.g. spain_rd_486_1997); it is not shown by default without that flag.
