The Arbeidsomstandighedenbesluit (Working Conditions Decree) Art. 6.1 requires that, having regard to the nature of the work and the physical burden it imposes, the temperature at the workplace causes no harm to workers' health. Where harm can nevertheless arise from the workplace temperature or from adverse weather, the employer must supply personal protective equipment; where PPE cannot prevent harm, the duration of work must be limited or the work alternated with time spent somewhere at a non-harmful temperature. Dutch law states NO numeric temperature limit for heat — by design, confirmed by the Arbeidsinspectie's own Arboportaal.
