Mine Health and Safety Act 29 of 1996 guideline (ref DMRE 16/3/2/4-B6) for a mandatory code of practice on thermal stress, mines only. Table 1 classifies the thermal environment A to D; any one criterion places it in the class.

This rule has no numeric trigger the calculator evaluates — it states duties and control measures rather than a threshold a reading can be checked against. Its measures are listed below.
No standalone formula is published for this standard; see programmable logic and parameters below.

Programmable logic
Class A (abnormally hot): WBGT >= 34, wet bulb >= 32.5, dry bulb >= 37 or globe >= 37 -- no normal work except to rectify the condition. Class B (hot): WBGT 30-<34, wet bulb 27.5-<32.5, dry bulb or globe 32.0-<37.0 -- heat stress management mandatory, monitoring within every 30 days. Class C (significant risk): WBGT 25-<30 or wet bulb 25.0-<27.5 -- management mandatory, monitoring within every 45 days. Class D below.
The highest class met by any supplied input is returned.
Required inputs: none
Optional inputs: wbgtC, airTempC, globeTempC, wetBulbC
