Spain RD 863/1985 RGNBSM Art. 68 and ITC 04.7.02 — underground equivalent temperature 33 °C — Heat Stress Screening Thresholds

Reglamento General de Normas Básicas de Seguridad Minera (RD 863/1985) Art. 68 and its ITC 04.7.02 s.3 (Orden de 13 de septiembre de 1985): ventilation must keep workings from exceeding 33 °C equivalent temperature at any place where personnel regularly work; te = 0.9 th + 0.1 ts (th wet-bulb, ts dry-bulb).

Programmable logic

te = 0.9*wetBulbC + 0.1*airTempC. te > 33: ceiling exceeded; work above it needs special authorisation from the mining authority (urgent cases allowed with precautions and constant technical control). te > 30: temperatures must be recorded daily and intake/return air measured (reported as a control). Screening limit only: no work/rest schedule or stop-work trigger. Applies to underground mining (industry mining).

Inputs

Required inputs: wetBulbC, airTempC

Optional inputs: none
